`Toofan` is a remake of the Prakash Mehra starrer, `Zanjeer`. The film stars Prakash Raj, Priyanka Chopra, Ram Charan, Srihari and Sanjay Dutt. Apart from being remade in Telugu, `Toofan is also releasing in Hindi too as `Zanjeer`. The film marks Priyanka Chopra`s Tollywood debut, PC earlier starred in Zanjeer opposite The original `Zanjeer` which released in 1973 featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Pran, Ajit and Bindu in the key roles. `Zanjeer` made Amitabh Bachchan popular as the righteous angry young man. Big B reportedly has a guest appearance in `Toofan`.
Apoorva Lakhia the film has both directed and produced the film while Anu Malik, Chirantan Bhatt, Meet Brothers and Devi Sri Prasad have composed the film`s music.
